Hi Everyone,

The first game of the season is fast approaching with a trip to Canberra closely followed by the tussle with Warringah and then Eastwood.

For those wanting to come to Canberra we need to book before Easter so we don't miss out on rooms at Olims Hotel that night. This is a great night - those vets know how to host a Gala day. Be sure to let us know if you're coming. Check out the games section and click on the "I'll Be There" link or simply call me to confirm your attendance. 

The Warringah and Eastwood games will be upon us before you know it and are always good tussles. Warringah will be out in force as usual so it'd be good to turn up in numbers and as we're hosting Eastwood even more important to get a full side together. The earlier you can confirm your attendance the better. Look forward to hearing from you all.

The details for the Festival in Edinburgh have been updated with all the information including costs and Pre-Tour details. There's some information here also for those interested in coming along.  We've got spaces available so if you're thinking of coming or know others who would like to come please let me know.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the games and don't forget to bring your mates along, the more the merrier. And if you can spare the time we'd really appreciate you joining the committee to help in making the Stags a success. It doesn't take much time and every little bit helps.

World Golden Oldies Festival

An important point to note

The breakdown of payments is;

Festival: $2,450 - Payable to Gordon Stags

Pre-Tour: $3,300 - Payable to International Sports Tours

All payments to date have been towards the Festival only. Payments for the Pre-Tour need to be made directly with International Sports Tours.

For those indicating they are coming on the Pre-Tour your place has been booked. You will need to return their booking form along with deposit to confirm your place.

You can find the International Sports Tours booking form in the pack you should have received by now. If not, we have all the details of the Pre-Tour including booking forms, costs and payments from International Sports Tours. Download a copy here.

For those already coming to the festival don't forget the next payment for the Festival was due at the end of February. if you haven't sent it already please do as soon as possible. We've already booked our place at the festival and secured our accommodation, right in the heart of town. We now need to send them the next payment.

Players Wanted

We're looking for more players to join the Gordon Stags so if you know anyone who might be interested get them to call Bob or simply come along to one of the games. You all know how much fun it can be!!

Committee Members Wanted

We're still after some committee members to help in making the Gordon Stags a success. The types of activities we do are;

• Fund raising for the Stags
• Organising Games, Tours & Festivals
• Organising Social events
• Managing equipment and ground setup
• Representing the Stags at away games and functions

Generally we meet about once a month, when Bob remember to call a meeting, during the Rugby season for about an hour. So if you've got a little time to spare and are interested in helping give Bob a call.

Super 14 Tipping Competition

The Super 14 competition is well underway with some interesting results. This is keeping the tipping comp on it's toes with some big movers in the last 4 weeks. Of course it makes picking the margin a bit harder and it's sure to play a hand in the final result.

It's not too late to join just go to www.investectippingchallenge.com and type in the Pool code: dozyteam for the Pool name: Gordon Stags. Once you've registered you should automatically become a member of the Gordon Stags pool.

For those coming in late default points are allocated base on home teams. Brian Travers,who came in after week 1 has leapfrogged up into 4th place and starting to put the pressure on the leaders. It's still early days and anything can happen.

Well guys all the games are now confirmed and we just need to confirm some start times for Gala Days and trips away.

So, print off this email today, cut out the games section and stick it on the fridge. Tell the missus to not organise anything for these days, except for giving you a lift to Rugby so you can have a beer or 4, and I'll see you all at the games.
